Oil temp/pressure Sensor/gauge

For the boosted folks out there. Where did you place your sensors; tap the oil pan, tap an after market oil spacer, a tee on the factory sensors, or a pre tapped oil pan spacer? Do anyone have a sandwich plate that's tapped for such purposes?

^ i replied to your post in the other thread:

on my supercharged, then turbo'd DE motor, i installed the temperature sensor through my oil pan spacer and put the pressure sensor in a glowshift sandwich plate. the sandwich plate linked in the other thread has three 1/8 NPT ports so you could put both sensors there if that's more convenient.

I already got a sandwich plate for my oil cooler. Did you tap the oil pan spacer for the temp sensor though?

yeah, i ran a 1/8 npt tap through the oil pan spacer for my temp sensor. at the time, I wasn't planning on running an oil pressure sensor. had I known i would eventually do that, i would have just gotten the sandwich plate and wouldn't have tapped the spacer.

Oil pressure I teed off the factory location cuz that is where I'm also getting turbo feed oil. Oil temp I bought AN fittings to tee in in the oil cooler lines (precooler). At the next oil change I'm moving my oil temp sender from the oil cooler to my new Phunk baffled oil pan as I had it customized to accept the sender.

yeah i've heard about mishimoto and their o ring troubles. but if I replace the o ring with another of my own, wouldn't i be safe? For $160 i would've hoped they would have corrected that o ring nonsense by now...

I would stay as far away from Mishimoto as possible. I know two guys that had their race thermostat fail. One caught it in time the other cost him his motor.

Plus if you are going to be running an oil cooler, you are going to want a thermostatic controlled sandwich plate.

I already have the stillen 19 row oil cooler with the thermostatic sandwich plate. Was checking to see what options the boosted folks in the G community did for their oil ports. I know how you did yours because I'm active in the370z.com site as well. Not much info over here. Could be as simple as running a second Tee to the factory oil sender as you did plus tapping the spacer.

Hi everyone! We did have an issue with a few of our rings in the past, however, we have redesigned the o-rings eliminate leaks as long as the plate is torqued properly. If anyone has a problem with oil leaking or seeping, please feel free to contact us at support@mishimoto.com so we can have replacements sent out!

Thanks,
Pat

Must've missed mishimoto response. Respect to those guys for clearing the air. I got the innovate oil temp/pressure dual gauge. In my Z1 spacer I'll tap my thermostat in then tee the pressure sender into the oem pressure sender which is the oil feed line for the boosted performance turbo kit. Just as how jwick did.
