Help installing Oil Temp Gauge

For the life of me I can’t figure out how to tap in to install my oil temp gauge. For my coolant I think I can just replace the sensor located on the back of the block? But stock oil temp sensor looks like it has two wires going into it and the gauge only has one wire.

First of all to obtain the data you are requesting you dont need to do any of these things.
Secondly replacing the OEM coolant temp sensor with an aftermarket one will put you in limp mode and make your car run like crap.

The way to do this and keep the car happy and budget as well is to buy a cheap OBD blue tooth reader along with Torque Pro / OBD fusion to be able to read the actual OEM sensors since the car already comes equipped with them.

It is the smart way to go and really the only way I'll recommend with these cars.

yeah, thanks for the advice, but I’ll be pushing over 600whp so I don’t want to rely on a mobile app to gather readings. I want them in my face at all times, and I have already bought all AEM gauges. I figured out by picking up a -10 male to female with a 1/8 NPT sensor port I can screw that onto the sandwich plate and tap into the oil cooler lines for the sensor. For anyone else wondering how to wire up the gauge this is the easiest way I’ve found the adapter fitting costs $20 on anhosefittings.

That’s a nice walk through. Any of those for installing a trans cooler? I think I found lines to replace to sun my trans cooler but I’m unsure of what fittings and hose sizes I’ll need.

I saw the last one, that’s where I got the idea of just replacing the inline to the radiator and the other line coming from trans. Don’t think he tells ya the hose size though lol he wants u to buy his kit.

So you'll still need to leave the OEM temp sensors installed for the ECM not to trip.
Easiest you could do is a sensor aluminum sleeve where you split the top coolant hose and install it or you use one of the Throttle body coolant ports and tap it to accept the thread.
If you're going turbo then I take you're installing an oil pressure and now oil temp as well. You can ditch the factory dummy sensor if you're planning on using a pressure. The temp can go in the sandwich plate.

I’m doing oil pressure right now, and don’t have oil temp. Where is the factory dummy sensor for oil pressure? I was going to put pressure in a T fitting off the cooler lines going into my sandwich plate. And planned on replacing the factory sensor for the coolant temp gauge.

So I can’t just replace this sensor with the sensor included with my aem water temp sensor? It’ll throw the ecm off?

Thanks birdie, where does that second machined aluminum fitting tap in? Says heater hose maybe? But idk where that hose is on the vq37vhr nor do I know about how easily accessible it is. I know the upper radiator hose would be super easy to get to obviously but wouldn’t it be easier to deal with a straight compared to that 45°

If you go these route they do make different size treads so order the correct one.

You can also look up z1 bleeder port on YouTube for my info
