Error Code P0302 and P0106 (CEL) - Is it just Ignition Coils?

Hello guys,

I'm really surprised this is happening because I barely drive and I just put in brand new NGK spark plugs 2 years ago (10,000kms ago). The car is vibrating during startup but seems to settle down 20-30s after and then I'm able to drive long distances without noticing a thing (or so I think). However the initial 20-30s is rough enough to make me feel unease so I brought the car to a mechanic and he told me it's codes P0302 and P0106 (CEL on). No troubleshooting was done, but they told me I should be able to Google the codes and find replacement parts online (I usually buy the parts and bring them to the mechanic). Would 1 Ignition Coil (for failed Cylinder 2) suffice or should I replace all 6 at once? Do brands matter, I was looking at NGK 48748 OEM Part 22448EY00A on RockAuto.

Please advise, thank you.

What's the best way to troubleshoot this so I don't go buying unnecessary parts? I talked to mechanic over phone but they just want me to go out and buy replacement ignition coils and MAP sensor.... I was going to just buy 1 or 2 coils but they suggested buying/changing all 6 instead of just the misfiring one. They are not cheap, around $530 CAD for 6. And MAP sensor is $125. What should I do? Please!!!

I'm not sure what help we can do remotely.

You could run a search on this forum or The 370Z forum to see if anyone had the same issue in the past and found a fix.
Regarding what your mechanic is saying, I would recomend finding a shop that would be willing to troubleshoot the car. I ran P0302 in the FSM and the list is long, everyting from wiring to injectors to coils ...etc.

I cant locate P0106 in the FSM, but google agrees that this code is commonly used for the MAP sensor. Not sure if that carries over to Infiniti.

Here is the P0302 list:
• Improper spark plug • Insufficient compression • Incorrect fuel pressure • The fuel injector circuit is open or shorted • Fuel injector • Intake air leak • The ignition signal circuit is open or shorted • Lack of fuel • Signal plate • A/F sensor 1 • Incorrect PCV hose connection

Thanks for the reply anyways. I did some more research online and came across a YT channel that briefly talked about another G37 enthusiast having similar issues (but now fixed).
- in there he said he suggested ignition coils should be changed every 5 years/100,000 miles with spark plugs so when he mentioned that it kinda made me think "hmmm, that's kinda what's happening to me". Like myself, the enthusiast decided not to change ignition coils when he replaced the spark plugs to save the extra $600 and not too long after the "P0300 series error code" (engine cylinder misfire) popped up along with "P0106 error code" (MAP sensor). He replaced the coils, cleaned the MAP sensor and everything worked after.

Here's a question you might be able to help me with. What other kind of cheap-ish things can I / should I change at approximately ~183,000kms (aside from fluids, oil changes, air filters which I do regularly?) Spark plugs were done 10,000kms ago, so I'm going to get new ignition coils from RockAuto and I'm going to ask the mechanic to clean the MAP sensor. Should I get throttle bodies cleaned, new heater hose, new gallery gasket, new water pump, new PCV valves, etc?
