MAP Sensor Failure? Error code P0106

So, I had a "Service engine soon." Light in March 2019, I checked what it was and it was error code P0106. I replaced the MAP sensor with a mechanic and they fixed it they put a new map sensor and I think reset the ECU? I think. The light was gone but recently it returned I got it again this month for the same error code? Could it be that the sensor is faulty? Anyone else have the same issue or is it just me ?

My advice is to always stick with OEM. I had an MAF sensor go out on my '02 Maxima (same code) at 200k miles. It may have just needed a cleaning, but I went aftermarket. It worked for a little while, but then the light returned. Same thing happened when I replaced a coil pack... went aftermarket and it still wasn't right. Everything worked fine once I used the original OEM parts. Also, handle the MAF sensor with care... delicate internals that can damage easily if dropped, etc.

Oreilys sells OEM denso ones, either way they have lifetime warranty on their stuff. And even new OEM parts go bad out of the box

That's good, he can return/exchange. I agree... OEM can take a dump out of the box sometimes. The problem today is that these parts (whether it be OEM or aftermarket) are made anywhere these days. I think there is a risk in quality when this occurs.

Yeah I definitely should have gone with OEM. I solved my issue I went to replace it since I did have it under warranty I'm hoping it doesnt fail on me again.
