Trying to replace the transmission speed sensor on my ‘09 G37x sedan. YouTube is not being very helpful. Location of the sensor is possibly between the firewall and where the engine and tranny meet up. 10mm bolt to remove and unplug to replace it. I have the air breather off the passenger side as well as the engine cover. Cars been not running for over a week and my only means of transportation. Please help me. This is the sensor I bought to fix the issue.

The speed sensor is located inside the transmission. To replace it, the transmission must be removed and disassembled.

The speed sensor is not your problem.
A P0725 is declared when the transmission control module (TCM) hasn't received the engine RPM signal from the engine control module (ECM)
Also, the U1000 indicates loss of CAN bus communication and in this case between the TCM and ECM.
Get under the car and check the wiring harness at the side of the transmission for damage and that it is not loose.
If all checks out, the factory shop manual suggests to replace the TCM.
I have located a refurbished TCM on eBay but the listing states that it’s for an AWD 5-speed automatic transmission and I thought the 2009 g37x was a 7-speed auto trans. And the part numbers they say it replaces are Jatco Part Number: 31040 90X10 Bosch Part Number: 0 260 550 002. Does anyone happen to have the correct part number for my G37x TCM? Thanks in advance for all the help.
I purchased a used transmission and swapped the valve body out on my 09 G37x and it did not correct the P0725 or U1000 error code. I believe the next step would be to replace my ecu or have it rebuilt. So now I have an extra valve body for a G37x tranny of anyone is interested. I listed it on eBay. I contacted Infiniti and they informed me that the TCU TCM valve body would not have to be programmed since it was a used valve body. It’s over $1,500 price for a new valve body through them.
The car turns over but does not fire. The wires appear to all be secure for the transmission. Fuses all test to be in working order. The crankshaft positioning sensor has been replaced. I unhooked the battery then the ecu to see if unhooking and reconnecting it would reset it. No luck.
I would try and probe the transmission lines down at the transmission. There could be a short or a broken wire, and checking to see if you can get a signal. If not then I’d check the wiring or probe the ecu and see what’s going on
Did any of the codes go away or do you have new codes with the used TCM?
As a general rule, and CAN bus codes (U1000) should be looked at first, as they have the higher priority.
Has any electrical work been done on the car that you know of?
The g37x is now at the local mechanic shop. The crankshaft position sensor, TCM, ECU has all been replaced before going to the shop. All codes are gone now. The mechanic has replaced the battery and fuel pump. He informed me there wasn’t fuel pressure but after replacing the fuel pump it has pressure yet is still cranking with no fire. Anyone have any ideas?

I ran a secondary push button from the IPDM. Once I get the car in the on position my secondary push button starts the car right up.
Second issue is that the car is in limp mode.
feels like 3rd gear.

The U1000 (no CAN bus communication at TCM) code has the highest priority and needs to be looked at first.
However, unless you have special CAN Bus tools/skills, most DIY folks need to take it to a good shop or the dealer.
