Would an AWD car benefit from a built rear diff? Not planning on doing it anytime soon but I was wondering.

 

depending on the purpose, rear gearing is always beneficial. But you'd also need to match the front diff.

The most beneficial is a proper diff like a good 1.5 clutch type (OS Giken, Nismo, etc.) or a Wavetrac (helical)
