VK56 swap

Good afternoon.

What would it take to do a VK56 swap in a G37 manual coupe? I know there is an adapter for the trans but in ECU wise, what would be required?

follow this thread and it'll give you an idea what you'll need. its a swap into a G35, but the idea is the same

You use the matching Titan ECU and tune it like a titan. I would look up Brennan at Driven Desire, he does a ton of these (including the manual swaps) into frontiers and Xterras. For tuning Cajun B Pipes

And just like the builds he mentions in the very first post, it appears this one died as well....

The idea is interesting to toss around after a few beers but executing such a feat is more trouble than it's worth IMO. Between time (that build was going on two years when it appears to have died), cost of fabricated parts, trying to source vendors (two that gave OP in the link issues) and patience you'd be better off just getting a M56 or Q70. Plus, either of those has the option of AWD if you really want to surprise some people.

It all starts with the type of VK56 you want to use.
Similar to DE to HR or VHR swap.

As you can see from the pictures many things need to be modified and fab and weld skills are needed.

Then depending on what you're swapping it into it's best if your swap is of the same year, first gen Z/Gs use slower CAN language.
Dual throttle VK56s come with VVEL just like the VHR which will require the VVEL ECM and harness.
Uprev/ECUTEK with nats deleted is a must.

You're looking at an average of 8-10k for a completed swap and at that price LS becomes a viable option.
