P0725 Woes
P0725 Woes
I have a supercharged G sedan 7AT AWD. A few weeks ago I got a P0725 and the car abruptly died on the highway. I assumed since I'm boosted that the flexplate cracked and whacked the crank sensor. So I bought an LOJ flexplate and OEM crank sensor and paid someone trustworthy to replace them for me (I've just had enough of laying on my garage floor for a week screaming and wanted it fixed). I put probably 60 miles on it since that was fixed and I am again getting the P0725 code and nothing else. Just that code and the car dies. I leave it sit for an hour and it'll crank back up and drive for a few miles and die again. I dropped it back off at the shop that did the work because I can't take this car anymore and don't want to deal with it myself now. But we're all equally confused what's going on here. I'm assuming it's got to either be TCM or wiring since I'm not getting any CANBUS errors off the ECU. Can the TCU intermittently work with reading the engine speed input? I really don't know what to look for first and how to look for it.
This thread is almost 4 years old. I doubt OP is coming back to answer your questions. I'd recommend checking your battery first. I just had a battery 0.1V under normal, and it caused a bunch of problems with my MAFs and TBs.Under voltage from the battery can make sensors report inaccurate readings.
