Vr30 trans swap in g37x sedan

Okay, so I’m planning on doing a vr30 trans swap (or I’d like to anyway). I don’t plan on boosting the car, this is more for longevity, as I plan to have my car for a long time. My car is full bolt tuned at the moment, and I know the stock trans can handle it. But I do plan on doing more (e85, cams, etc). And I want a trans that I know for a fact will handle it with no issues. I’ve heard of plenty of people doing this, so I know it’s plenty possible.

I know it’s not simple plug and play. I’ll need a tcm, re-drill the holes for the crank sensor and brackets, and that I’ll need a new/custom driveshaft. The only question I have is, for any guys that have done this on an X, how much longer does the driveshaft need to be?

Drive shafts on RWD need to be shorter.
In your case you'll need a shorter rear shaft but a longer front shaft.
You might get away with the Q front shaft and with the rear possibly a mix of 2 drive shafts

In my opinion, wait a bit longer to see what others discover since the AWD trans swap will likely take off in the next year.

Has anyone on this forum done the VR trans swap? Whether it be RWD or AWD. I'm curious about any hiccups that they faced and how the car feels afterwards

It would have to be about 1/2 shorter

I wonder if your old driveshaft would work if you use a skinnier giubo (rubber disc thing that connects to differential)
