I am leaking fluid from my transmission right above/behind the transmission pan, and it seems to be coming out of where there is a sensor screwed in with a wire harness connected to it. I'm not sure if it maybe just came loose or is now broken, but that's where it's leaking from. I'm looking at parts diagrams and can't seem to find the correct part. It looks like it has a C clip around it as well, if that helps to identify it. I touch it and it almost feels like it is free floating, so I am assuming there is a seal there that is now broken.
That would explain why my transmission has been feeling a little jerky lately... lol
No pics as of yet, have to get under the car again and take another look.
Are you referring to this guy:
If so, that is the A/T assembly connector- basically the connector for the TCM. Don't remove the clip. Once the clip is removed the connector will drop down into the tranny.

actually no, the connector i am seeing under here is on the rear, right behind/above the transmission pan. But it is exactly the same style of connector/sensor as that! Could just be because my model is a little older?
Nearest I can tell, if it is a 10-pin connector, then that is the TCM connector. All copies of my FSM for the 7AT (2010, 2012, 2014) show only one (1) electrical connector. Even the 2018 Q60 shows just one (1) connector. That has to be the one you are having issues with.

that makes sense to me. Why would it be leaking. Is there a seal there that may have ruptured?
More than likely the o-ring took a crap. From the 2018 FSM:
Not a hard fix, but a PITA none the less. EDIT: the part is called a TERMINAL JOINT and is p/n: 24361-90X00. They cost ≈$30-50 depending on where you buy.
You could probably find a suitable o-ring for a fraction of the cost that will work just the same.

Before you start to buy parts or disassemble, have a close look at the transmission cooler lines that are right next to the connector. (Where the red plugs are in the above pic)
They are under pressure and if there is a small leak, it could spray onto the connector, making it look like the connector is leaking.
It is very unlikely it is leaking at the connector, since there isn't any pressure behind it.
The inside of the transmission is vented to the atmosphere.
Hey all here's an update. It's dry now somehow... You can see the sensor pictured here and there are no lines for cooling near it, just some sort of bracket type thing or maybe a shift linkage of sorts. Not sure if that means there's no fluid in there or what! But I think this is the torque converter, not the transmission?? Anybody have some insight?
I did not realize you had a G37X- AWD- car!!! That said, I am 99.9% sure that your "mystery connector" is for the AWD SOLENOID. This solenoid controls the electronic coupling of your AWD system. According to the FSM, if this fails you have to replace the entire coupling.
Personally, I would leave it alone. Unless fluid is gushing out, or you have other symptoms, leave it be. Maybe some of our AWD members will have other input.
