Constant Issues with 2009 G37
12 months ago my 2009 (120k miles) G37 conked out and the end result was a new engine and everything else that entailed. Three months after that, I broke down again and had to get a new alternator. Just a few months ago, I break down yet again because the new alternator was damaged due to coolant leaking onto it. I'm just back from another repair (triggered by a breakdown) where the water pump leaked onto the thermostat. I've had the car back for a week and now I notice when idling, that the dashboard lights are gently pulsating. I can FEEL that something else is about to happen. What the hell is wrong with this car? Every issue genuinely seems like a new issue and I've trusted this mechanic for years. Thankfully my extended warranty helped pay for the new engine but I've spent close to $5K myself this year on repairs.
This is a bit of a rant because I'm sure nobody can help without looking at the car, but I'm at my wit's end and don't know if I should sell it or hope that this is finally the last repair I need to make.

What was wrong with the original engine?
"new alternator was damaged due to coolant leaking onto it."
From where??? There are no coolant hoses above the alternator. Did the rad or lower rad hose spring an upward leak and spray the alternator?
"the water pump leaked onto the thermostat".... Ummm, that is not physically possible. The water pump is INSIDE the timing cover and the thermostat is at the upper front of the engine.
I would try a new mechanic before selling the car... from you you have described, something sounds VERY suspicious to me.
