Exclamation Car starts to Stutter at 2200 RPM and wont go higher

Was driving my car earlier and it decided to go limp on me. Car won't go above 2200 RPM, it begins to stutter when I try to accelerate past 2200.

No check engine light came on or anything else. I did the IDLE relearn when I got home and it can finally go past 2200 RPM. What could be the cause of it doing that to begin with?

I recall someone posted why it goes into limp mode at certain RPM. If my memory serves, 2200rpm is because of throttle bodies. Maybe try cleaning them

I cleaned them half a year ago, could it be a MAF sensor going bad?

The first thing you need to do is check for stored codes.

Was it raining/do you have aftermarket intakes?
best bet is always to clean MAFs. Then maybe throttle bodies if not that. Those are easiest first steps. No code?

No code, it was actually snowing when this happened! I slipped for a second and the stutter started. Never had the stutter ever since I reset the throttle bodies.

Hey everyone had the same thing happen again this year with the car going into limp mode. It only occurs when its snowing outside. A code popped up reading P0101. Cleaned out my MAF sensors and hasn't happened again since.
Has anyone else have this issue happen to them?

All stock, happens every year only in the winter. It gets dangerous, car randomly goes limp mode and won't rev. Still haven't figured out why it keeps doing that.

check your air filters good chance they are out of shape on the sides and letting snow in hitting the MAF sensors. Happened to me everytime it was blowing snow out. Just figured this out yesterday. The filters get damp/old and the motor tries to pull air around them. I had gaps on the sides as well It was very stiff in the cold and would not spring back at all.

I'll give that a shot and take a look, thank you!
