(I have a hole in my exhaust, so I can’t quite hear everything perfect in my car)
What did you use to tie up the heatshield? I get such annoying rattling at idle sometimes, other times nothing. Def coming from under the car. Plan to fix it next time I do an oil change.

Thanks!

Thanks for the info. Cheap clip match up at auto parts store and a 2-year rattle fixed. Another vote for the windshield washer tank clip

I chose a more "permanent" fix

I had that same rattling sound thinking that it can possibly be the heat shield but it ended up being the windshield washer reservoir with a broken plastic clip.

Talking

You guys rock.. I had the rattle noise going on for quite some time in my 2008 G35. The windshield washed bottle retaining clip was the issue!!!

I checked mine and it was really loose, replaced with a bumper push fastener as shown in your pic and it's snug now (see pic with PN below). Over the years, I have replaced so many of these clips under the hood and fender wells, which keeps vibration related rattles to a minimum. We could almost start a thread on the topic. I also use MD weather seal on alot of potential rattles (where high temps are not a concern, like the fuse/power line for my sub amp - see below) and to reseal things like the air boxes:

Additional question, the black cover that hides the battery has clips on the ends to hold in in place, but the center portion is plastic sitting on top of metal. Would that be a source of vibration related rattles?
