Chipped gear tooth
I got my diff shipped to me and just opened it up to find one of the tooth on the ring is chipped. Will this affect anything?

Any slop between the gears, will cause premature wear.

Dang, Thanks everyone for the insight. I was lucky enough that this diff was suppose to be a trade for my 3.916. He sent his first and wanted me to ship my diff once I received his in the same box. I spoke with the guy and I'm going to ship it back to him on his dime and just keep my 3.9
