transmission question
Im in the process of purchasing one of these great cars. Do all have or eventually get the downshifting problem . The car I'm thinking about purchasing is 2 hours away its a 2009 with 70k miles.

Yes. This is Infiniti's way of getting good mpg for the window sticker. Get a Sport and use manual mode with the paddle shifters. There are a few issues addressed by firmware updates but down-shift reluctance isn't one of them. Of course, this assumes you're talking about the automatic. I don't know if the manual trans is available in the convertible.

Running my non-S convertible in DS mode with traction control disabled seems to greatly reduce the downshift delay. Most of the time I cruise around in D, and I’m not mashing the gas, so it’s not an issue. But when I feel like driving more “spirited”, that seems to do the trick.
