Does a 2012 model have the paper gasket issue that caused so many issues for earlier model sedans?

I'm considering a 2012 X sport coupe with 60k miles. Any issues I need to be aware of? Thanks in advance.

 

2012 models have the revised gasket, should be no other significant issues.

 

I just bought a 2014 AWD coupe. In my research, everything I found said the 2012 model year (as in, could have been made late 2011) incorporated the new gasket specification. You should be good to go. Same as you, I limited my search to 2012+ cars.

 

Does anybody know if there’s a way to find out if there is any late model year 2011’s that had the gasket revision done? And if so what was the manufacture date or Vin number or way to tell? Date of manufacture etc.

 

That might be something only a knowledgeable dealer would be able to find out.

Side note: 2012 is when they fixed the gasket issue and used a better material. However, in some rare cases some cars had the gasket bolts back out due to them being improperly torqued down from the factory.
