I recently changed the engine in my v36 G35 and had to swap the coolant reservoir too as it was cracked and leaking. The replacement is an oem so I thought I wouldn't run into any issues but I was wrong. There's a hose coming out of the bottom and I don't know where it plugs so I shut it off with spark plug laying around. Any help would be appreciated.
If you're talking about he hose that points down out the bottom of the reservoir I believe that is an overflow tube and does not connect to anything. It dumps coolant on the ground rather than build pressure in the tank. On the G37 there are clips in the radiator fan that the tube clips into so that it is not flailing around.
On the g37 there's 2 slots¿? in the plastic near where the reservoir is mounted to route the hose down. It's an overflow hose in case the radiator boils over.
