Auto transmission shifts early...

When tracking my 2013 G37S in the "manual" mode with the seven speed automatic the transmission will upshift well before red line. I lose the top end rpms in the power band and this can happen sometimes around 6000 rpm. I am definitely in the manual mode and upshifting early ruins the performance. What gives?

How is it shifting if it's in manual mode? My car will bang of the limiter unless I shift. You're using the paddles to shift or the shifter right? Want to make sure you aren't talking about "DS" mode

I've noticed my DS mode can shift before redline; like 7300ish at times.

In manual mode, if you have a stock tune car, it will hit a safety rev limiter prior to 7500. Even if you physically shift at like 7400, it will still give out first. Gotta shift at like 7300.

question does it 'always do this'? Or does it do it after 10-15 minutes on the track? (asking from a heat perspective). From your post count, I'm assuming you have not modified the vehicle (meaning, you have not replaced the radiator)

TBH, looking at the power curve for these cars, you're probably better off shifting at 7300. The power drops off precipitously above 7000 rpm
