2011 G37s 6MT with 66,000 miles. When I accelerate to 5000 rpm going through the gears, I'm greeted with a burning smell through the vents. Been going on for the last two months. No burning smell when shifting at 3000 rpm. Clutch isn't slipping. Also, it doesn't happen every time (maybe 2 out of 3). Dealership can't figure it out. They've had the car up on the lift and the mechanic and I saw no leaks. They're advice? Bring it back if it gets worse.

Anyone else experience a similar problem? What was the cause and solution. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this.

 

Had this happened to my 2011 7AT when I got it in 2014 at 26k miles. Would give off that burning smells at higher speeds/higher rpms. Idk how it went away but it eventually did.

 

I'm hoping that will be the case, too Thanks, man. I'll update this thread and let you all know what I find out.

 

How are your cats?

 

If the burning smell is that of sulfur than it will most likely be your cats going bad.
