I wish I did the intake before the exhaust, I never heard a difference since the RTP's, y pipe and mufflers were over bearing. Oh well

hahaha yeah - BTW would you recommend resonated test pipes? I heard the rasp gets unbearable after removing the cats. What's your take on it?

Yeah, definitely resonated test pipes lol. I still get some rasp at certain higher RPM's but not at all while driving normal and I think its more due to the y-pipe, very tolerable.

Yeah prior to this I owned a G35X and had a AEM cold air intake with Megan racing Y pipe and removed the resonators and muffler (Straight pipe) and that rasp was soooooo nasty but the car sounded so aggressive on the lower RPMs.

I was thinking maybe the rasp is there because I removed the resonator. I didn't know that Y pipe caused it. I am going with GTHaus Y pipe in the future, not sure how it's gonna sound but I will find out lol.

The air is traveling way too fast through the intake tubes to heat the entire mass of air flowing through them. We're talking a few hundredths of a second for molecules to go from entering the filter to entering the throttle body. Wrapping them is a waste of time.

yet they're countless before and after with stillen intakes and admin tuning 3 inch cold air intakes yielding big power over stock. denser air/lower temps = more power. i got Art pipes on my G and i get no rasp... it sounds beautiful.... could barely tell that i changed from fast intentions high flow cats.

^^^ Nice - Is your car running more lean after the ART pipes? Did you check your A/F ratio

In my case, the aftermarket y pipe has a single 3" outlet that mates up to the stock mid pipe that I think is 2.5". So, the instant forced downsize in diameter is the cause of the rasp. Not having cat's certainly doesn't help either though lol

I agree, but at low speeds it may help to reduce the intake tube heat soak and IAT (intake air temp).

Yes it did lean out. I also ported my intake manifolds. Return imminent.
