Harsh shifts and pickup

Hey all. So I have a 2009 g37x coupe with r2c intake and ark exhaust system. I have been hearing a lot about the 7AT in the year that I have and that it has problems. I have read that there is an update to the ECU that fixes this. Is this true? Every time the car shifts it is very harsh and when I slow down I can feel the car jerk while its shifting down gears especially when it gets to second gear. I am unsure if it is just my transmission or if this is the common problem everyone has. Any help would be appreciated guys!

Has anyone used Amsoil or Redline for Transmission Fluid? What is the procedure for changing the transmission filter. I haven't really noticed harsh shifts, I keep hoping the fly by wire system starts knowing me. The car almost acts like a newbie with a clutch.

Sometimes it goes very well, mostly if you car goes downhill a bit on the start. There seem to be two speeds, too little and too much. I almost didn't buy, the salesman said it was normal..lol. I had a 01 Bmw and never felt anything like this with their fbw system.

Amsoil or redline should work fine so long as they have a low viscosity ATF that meets matic s specs. Just note that it takes 12-15 quarts to do a complete exchange, so you're looking at a big expense with boutique products. I'm just using valvoline maxlife, which is synthetic, meets the specs and is a mere $20 a gallon. I'd rather use that and change it more frequently vs spending nearly $200 on fluids.

Make sure you have the latest engine and transmission programming. Later updates really smoothed things out

There definitely some weirdness with the Electronics on mine and I have seen others talk about some of the things I have seen. Sometimes going from a start or a crawl, there is a lag. If you give it more pedal, it will give you more than you probably want.

There also seems to be some kind of connect with the traction control system. I have noticed that on slower turns/corners when you are trying to accelerate around the turn, the car seems to retard the power. I have never seen the traction light go on. It also will do the same on a bump that used to turn on my tc on my 528i.

I decided to turn off the traction control and I went around a turn, unfortunately the car decided to hold 2nd and 3rd and rev up. I got off the gas to eliminate what it was doing. It is weird, you have the tc on and sometimes it doesn't give you the expected power. You turn it off and the throttle is too aggressive, almost like it wants to harm you.

Maybe it is just mine though. The transmission may be adaptive, but I feel that the base tune isn't right. I spoke to the service department and got the service history from Infiniti. It had a reprogram of the TCM and ECM in 2013. It feels like it needs another one.

Yea mine has the same problem. I haven't gotten the tune reprogramming tho so that may be my issue. Im going to get the update then go get an uprev tune and from what I have been reading the tune fixes a lot of the problems with the transmission. The 7AT is a very flawed transmission system and seems to be pretty retarded if you ask me. I will keep you posted on if any of these fix it.

I blame it mostly on the gearing and software. 1st and 2nd seem to be geared too low. 7th geared too low as well. I would like to see my car doing 2000 rpm at 80mph not 2500 or so. I don't think they really needed two overdrives. But I am not an expert.

I know that one time I dropped my car to 2nd and I was surprised how high it revved. I was probably going around 30-35 at the time and that should have been okay. Sometimes it seems confused on what gear to be in, esp in traffic.
