G37 AWD and trac control
G37 AWD and trac control
Hey guys so I was curious about this as there's not a ton of read up besides a YouTube video on Infiniti AWD system.
I was curious that as an AWD system it spends most it's time in red mode, much like an Audi, then upon traction loss it diverts energy to the wheel of wheels with most grip....but herein lies my question, if power diversion is based upon traction loss do you really need traction control (via fun button) even on....or does turning the traction control off coincidently disengages the ability of power transfer or therein delays traction transfer between the wheels and transfer case? This is my first AWD car, always had red sportscars. So I'm curious of the dynamics of our system without going yo the dealer and sit them in a hot seat.
Here's my ride so far after 4 weeks of ownership

On G37, if you turn off the traction control (vehicle dynamic control) you don't disable the AWD ability to transfer power.
Traction control will throttle down the engine if wheel spin is detected, and change the throttle curve when accelerating on a turn.

Well put! and agreed!
