Well I ordered and replaced the VVT solenoid on bank 2 based on removal and no resistance or movement in the solenoid based on P0021 and P0524. Drove great for a week. Changed the oil because it had 4800 on it. Drove another week and it drove great. This morning I reset the ECU/TCU down the street from work on the way in from the 32mi trip. On the way home I immediately got the 3500rpm stall, but it was different. It went a tad farther at 3600rpm and it was not as pronounced or hard. I still do not have a CEL all the way home after 32mi but now I have a pending code of P0021 again. Is it really the gallery gaskets?

Not yet. The replacement Hitachi VVT solenoid is being delivered today. I bought a lesser one from Parts Geek and it *MAY* have been the problem. If this doesn't fix it I am taking it to someone with real diagnostic tools. There is another thread that is similar:

Well, the new Hitachi solenoid WORKED! For now. Runs like it did before this cluster F. Let me drive it for a few days and I'll check back. The old/cheap $40 one was from Parts Geek. Maybe I'll keep it and test it.
