Shift from 1st to 2nd with WOT
For all the 7 speed A/T Gs out there, has anyone had an issue with the engine bogging down when switching from 1st to 2nd at redline?
I don't do this often, but every once in a while, I will put it in DS mode, use my paddle shifters and get on it from a dead stop until redline, then switch to 2nd, then 3rd, etc. Ive noticed then when I make the switch from 1st to 2nd, the engine will bogg down or pause until the tach goes down to about 5 grand or so, then will pull hard again. Am I hitting a revv limiter that's causing the bog down? Anyone else have this? Just weird because ill go through all the gears the same but this only happens when im in 1st switching to 2nd.

I think when you put it in DS "manual" by selecting "1" at a stop it will shift each gear automatically at redline to prevent engine damage. Maybe it's getting hung up with you hitting it manually when it's trying to do it automatically. Does is still bog down if you don't shift and it goes by itself, or if you hit the paddle right before redline?
^^ What ryanwhite74115 and ANMVQ said
It actually wont shift automatically, it will just keep bouncing off of the rev limiter.

IMHO, the paddles are great for downshifting, e.g. to slow for a curve. However, the fastest way to get to 60 (or whatever your goal is) is simply to mat the pedal in with the transmission in DS mode. Upshifts seem slow when using the paddles.

If you are in 1st gear and trying to manually upshift to 2nd gear when the needle touches 7500rpm than you're doing it wrong.
There is a huge delay and you will hit the rev limiter before it can shift.
In 1st gear at wide open throttle you'll need to manually shift as soon as you see the needle touch 6500 rpm.
By the time the transmission finally shifts the rpm needle will be very close to 7500.
In 2nd gear you'll need to manually upshift when the needle is near 7100 rpm or so.
3rd gear you can shift near redline. About 7400 or so
