GTR spark plugs?

Today I got my car tuned (Ecutek) and my tuner told me I should invest in GTR spark plugs. He said they will prevent knock and would be able to handle a warmer engine. But I'm not really sure what else it does.

What would upgrading the spark plugs do? and is it worth it?

he's probably saying you need a cooler plug, normally boosted engines need that sort of mod, not na motors. I know I had to go to a cooler plug in my mazdaspeed 3 once I started tuning, but I haven't heard of going to a cooler plug in an na engine. our motors knock a **** ton anyway, no way around it, it's inherent in the vq. BTW, who is your tuner?

my tuner is Seb at Specialty Z. Does a great job. but yeah he highly suggested I do that to my car. He said the car would be able to run safer and would be able to have consistent power without getting affected by heat because I go to school in Arizona

he's my tuner as well, never suggested that to me, lol. I can see if you are in a consistently hot climate that a cooler plug could be beneficial, especially if your running advanced timing.

I highly doubt that..he has never suggest that to me and I live in Vegas.. And I push my car very hard all the time..you'll car wil get heat soak from The heat and spark plugs will have zero affect! Best you can do is run tanmission and power steering cooler to help!
He probably suggested to change them out depending on your mileage..
