Ultimate Z1 Header thread

Christmas in August!!
Well here they are and these are AWESOME!!
if you want to see what gains are to be had for the Z1 headers I would suggest you subscribe to this thread!
while it is a few months out OCT 12 is install date I just wanted to let everyone know how I plan on doing this!
1. the headers are being ceramic coated next week to keep the temps down under the hood.
2.Monday Oct 12 there is going to be a dyno run before install.
list of my current mods on car Stillen Gen3 Berk HFC Ark Exhaust Ported Plenum tuned with UpRev last dyno done when car was tuned 320whp-268tq that was with M370 which is now gone and I have switched over to my ported stock plenum.
3.dyno run with new Z1 headers and HFC for baseline..
4.GoodBye uprev Hello ECUTEK im switching over to ECUTEK for hopefully more power..

Seem pretty nice.

With all your mods, you should have of of the fastest N/A Gs. Theoretically.

Looking forward to the install/tune/dynos.

1300 LOL i wish the cost was 1300.
by the time i get done the total cost will be more like 2450
they are going to get ceramic coated next week.
plus i bought 2 new oxygen sensors since the ones that are usually in the headers are froze..
here is a cost break down to keep in mind.
headers and hfc 1300
ceramic coating 200
oxygen sensors 250
install 700
not cheap but hope that are worth the cost.

$700 install labor? Wow. The extra o2 sensors yes. Are you gonna be there for installation? Want more info on where the header meets the steering column.

Chuckie do you have a X or are you RWD? Details would be good. I wanted headers for a long time. All my inquiries here have resulted in they are a waste of money. I hope you prove them wrong. I would jump on headers if the gains are worth it. I'm sure those of us that are tuned would need to get re-tuned though.

i am RWD..all the threads i read about headers are of bashing them on you don't get any gains from headers.i have found very few before or after dyno's on either..but this is where i go and get my car turned and worked on and there are a few before and after dyno's of both...
the few i have talked about Z1 headers that actually had them in the 370z forums one saw a 15whp gain from them..
that is why i am doing to to prove if they make power or not..

here are some long tubes installed by Seb and a dyno run..long tubes picked up great mid range but 0 on the top end..

http://specialtyz.com/blog/?p=122

Stillen headers installed in a sedan with nothing else.. so their's proof that they can make power.

you're HFC wont work unless you change the flange.. they use DE flanges from the 350z..
i am running berk HFC now but will sell them when i switch over to the headers

It's more expensive to go fi if you are automatic vs 6mt.boost is always fun if you can afford it. I can't justify spending 6k+ on stillen supercharger to live with a 420 whp cap and I also can't justify a 10k TT kit. I'd rather buy another car with that money. In my defense, I'm staying na for that specific reason. If you are 7at or even 5at. The transmission will be needed to be rebuilt for approximately the same 5-10k. .. if u can pay to play then go boost.
