After tackling the road course, it felt great... Went to the 1/4 strip the other day and started getting a power cut. Been talking with Pat from Level 10 and he said that the power is being cut with the traction control. I have been scrubbing multiple forums and it looks like I'll need to unplug or wire in a switch to the traction control unit. We shall see, getting confirmation with Pat then going to do the mod. Fingers crossed!

Man...never ending issues. I hope the easy fix works for you. I bet this experience has taught you a thing or two about being patient. Surprised you haven't thrown in the towel and bought yourself a used GTR or something. It's very evident your love for the G is strong .

I love my G too much to give it up. I'm almost finished with it, then the build is over and I can move on to something else (but never getting rid of the G).

Been learning a lot over time and I'm sure there's more to learn as well, haha!

Ecutek can disable the VDC... I have it set to when I shut off the VDC it is completely disabled and my only saving grace is the Ecutek Traction control... Trust me I went sideways at 120+mph and 7300rpms... enough so that the person behind me could see my brake calipers and all I could do was feather the throttle.

Not once did it kick on...

So the Ecutek didn't help save you at all? Is Ecutek able to offer this to people not in that state somehow?

do you have painted brake calipers or did you scare the hell out of them and not even have something pretty for them to look at before nearly dying?

Still haven't made the switch over to EcuTek. Have the line pressure and torque management tables perfect for the transmission now and I kind of don't want to mess with it yet. Still working on the switch to get rid of the traction control and another for standing burnouts.

So for someone with a 2012 g37x with 35k on the odometer looking to go tt in the later future, what internals could I start upgrading now and over time? This would be over 2-3 years culminating with a Fast Intentions tt kit if all goes the way I would like. I have pretty much all the breather mods I'm going to do and I don't plan on tracking my car I just want a reasonable amount of boost that I could take out and have fun with as a DD. This would be my first boosted and even my first heavily modified car. What is going to help me build reliable power and functionality over time?

No internal upgrades needed up to 550hp, even an odd dyno run at 600whp is fine. You need upgraded internals if you want to go to even higher hp which starts getting exponentially more expensive.

I'm at 500AWHP without built internals. This thread was more about the transmission handling the power and at around 500AWHP I highly recommend having the transmission built (clutch packs, torque converter, and valve body)

Lt8Che, how's your built 7AT holding up? I saw your build thread, looks like you track your X as well, everything holding up with the level10? Thanks for the thread by the way, gives good insights to 7AT rebuilding, probably something I'll do in the future.

Car has been running strong. The level 10 transmission has not had any hiccups. Strong/crisp shifts under a ton of power. I just recently wired in a switch to kill the traction control system including VDC and it allows the car to perform how I want it. Glad the thread helps out, trying to give people some options that I have learned the hard way.

hows the dshifts feel under normal city conditions, stop and go/shifting up and down in traffic etc?

i just pulled the trigger this morning and Pat said they will start my 5at on Monday, and that it should take 4 days or so (seriously couldn't believe that quick, especially cause i asked if they can source a tranny, build it, and ship it to avoid downtime.. "we have one in the shop already"...)

he mentioned if i heard of a car in texas with the built tranny putting out massive power recently.. i'm thinking he might have referenced you but it didn't click at the time.

Normal conditions feel smooth, it took some time to get the tune down for that but it's good. The line pressure and torque management was causing trouble through UpRev but finally got tuned right to feel good at normal day to day driving and race conditions.

Pat and the guys at Level 10 are an awesome crew. They are very helpful and genuine people. Yeah, the car in TX is mine haha.
