Clutch problem!
Clutch problem!
I need some advice. So i was having issues putting my car into gear (2008 g37s 6speed) on friday night and i got a tow truck to town it and me without thinking it was really late i decided to drop it off at aamco witch i know theyre so expensive. Well i really wanted to leave it at a trusted mechanic instead but didnt think so i give it to aamco and they said they have to check it internally so they drop the trans. Ends up being i agreed and they diagnosed it for me and said i needed a new clutch, flywheel, master cylinder, and slave cylinder. So i thought it would be roughly 1500 or so but they gave me 4100 to fix it with all new oem parts. So now i commited a mistake because i cant afford 4k so ima just pay 465 of labor and take it to my local trusted mechanic. I heard oem flywheel and clutch run alot at the dealer so i found used ones at z1 motorsports from ppl that upgrade with low mileage. I have not much of a choice would it be recommended to take that chance and buying it used because i don't have 2000 for a new oem clutch and flywheel? Please help if possible
There are so many aftermarket options that can get you everything for less than $2k. As a matter of fact you can get a clutch and flywheel combo for around $800 for the JWT. Check the drivetrain section of the classifieds and see all the options other than OEM.

Thanks man! So i found an alternative i went with jwt clutch kit and flywheel and got an upgraded slave cylinder for 325! Woo hoo i couldnt believe the infiniti oem was so expensive but i got a good price from concept z performance. I heard the flywheel is a little noisy but as long as its in good mechanical condition ill be fine! I got my clutch and flywheel for 830 after taxes

Well i have a problem I just picked up my car from aamco after replacing everything clutch flywheel and master and slave cylinder and it went into gear just fine and two miles later it doesnt want to go into gear again now im going back to see whats going on. Im so stressed about this situation i wonder what can be going on. They even replaced the hydraulic tubes! Oh god my infiniti is kicking me in the butt:-(
Have u ever heard issues on the shifter assembly on these? Seems a bit tough to get into 4th gear when i first had it and i got told it might be the gearbox? Just a question because i recently like 2mo ago i got told by aamco that it was probably the shift assembly because they said my transmission and clutch were fine at the time im wondering if i get a new shift assembly it would correct the problem
