Do these cars' engines still have issues with burning oil?

I'm noticing drips of oil puddling under the car. Car only has 2800 miles. I checked my dipstick and it's barely 1cm above the L indicator.

Getting it checked on Monday.

Low oil could be burning oil? Or most likely, the dripping of oil.

If you have oil puddles under the car, my bet is on dripping rather than burning
Hopefully it's just a drain plug w/ a little seep.

Over exaggerated when I said puddles. I placed a cardboard box underneath to see how much it drips overnight.

update!

After waiting 3 hours, I checked the dipstick and the oil is now at the halfmark. Not as bad as before.

Oil is super dirty. I mean very black. And Infiniti wants me to wait til 5k to change it? (car has 2800) on it so far.

Checked my cardboard and yes, oil is slowly dripping onto it.

I always change my brand new cars oil the first time at 1k miles, I'd go ahead and get it changed, especially since you've got some oil dripping.

I went in twice. 1st time at 850 miles and the second time at 1700 miles. Both time they said it was too early. Second time they told me to wait til 5k miles.

imagine if they actually changed it at 1700 mikes. They would have noticed the leak. I only noticed because I decided to wash my car and when I pulled the car out of the garage, walk back to get my bucket, I noticed the small pool of fresh oil along with spots of old dry oil around it. So this has been happening for a while.

Be firm with them ... tell them you WANT it changed (and leak fixed) .... good to change it early during the break-in period. I know that's the old school approach but it works, take care of your cars life blood and it will take care of you.

I've never heard of a dealership turning down an oil change, you'd think they would be all over the extra work.

Tried about 7 oil brands and the only one that doesn't burn a lot with my driving style and abuse is Motul. So I have been using that for the last 2 years with zero issues.
I used Motul 5W30 X-Max the entire 5 plus years and 52K miles I owned my 2010 G37x Coupe. Permanently quieted the VVEL tick that was present at delivery and never burned any oil the entire life of the vehicle until I totaled it in October. People call Motul boutique oil due to the price, but I found that it was worth the extra cost, especially if bought by the case. Shortly after buying the 2010, Infiniti released a TSB targeting nearly 8,000 engines that "could" use excessive oil due to a "possible" manufacturing flaw. My VIN fell 200 units outside of the 8,000 unit interval of VIN's stated in the TSB. Felt like I really dodged a bullet on that run of oil burning engines. 200 units is literally less than one 8 or 10 hour factory production shift.

I truly miss that vehicle. Insurance only paid out $22.5K. The damage adjustor's computer program flagged the estimate at $20K and shut the estimate down at $32K, and it was nowhere near complete. Even then, there would have been the inevitable damage supplements and rental. Only way insurance proceeds with repairs that bad is if the current replacement value of the vehicle exceeds $60K or $70K. Nobody would want to keep that vehicle. State trooper said he expected a fatality when he first saw the car. These cars are built like tanks. Classic right front offset crash that many new cars cannot pass. Any lesser of a car, I probably would have not walked away.

turns out i have a leaking slave cylinder. tranny needs to be dropped on a car with only 2850 miles.

this doesnt explain my car being low in oil. So prolly burning oil too.

Any engine might use a bit of oil while the rings set themselves. I wouldn't be too worried until you have like 5 to 10k.

I just purchased a2011 g37x a few weeks back and saw the blue puffs. Oil was low on my first gas up. checked it 400 miles later and it was a quart low.
I'm now doing the OC test through the local dealer at 50000 miles. yay!

Hey bro, are you still burning oil? I too have a 2013 6mt sedan

Are you still burning oil?

Is there any chance that Nissan has rectified the original manufacturing defect for a certain model year onward?

Also... is the coupe (especially the IPL) more likely than the sedan to experience these issues?

Thanks...
We bought a 2013 6MT brand new. It now has 28,500 miles and does not use oil between oil changes.
We change the oil at least every 5,000 miles and drive in highways and city (no dusty roads).
We have not had any problems with this car, and would not hesitate to buy it again.

You can lose oil without a drip. My old G coupe had a bad seal that would leak just slightly, the engine temp would burn off the oil before it hit the ground. I'd kill more than a quart every 3K miles. Trust me, if your oil gets dangerously low you'll hear valve clatter. Otherwise you'll be fine with frequent changes and top-offs in between.
