Sorry to hear that about the MHI as it seemed to be a promising kit for a bargain. The old style manifolds do not rub, or have any of the other issues. The bumper is probably worn out clips and hardware. They should have stuck to their guns and kept on with the original kits. I've heard of cracked maniolds but never experienced them myself or seen them on any of the 4 kits I've owned.

I sold my gtm stage 2 with down pipes n 3"gtm exhaust. I was one of the very few lucky ones that didn't have a cracked manifolds. Thank god. Motor build is just about finished and I'll be going with Sasha's BP kit.

The fact that they're paying vendors just gets more attention since these vendors are paying to support this site and keep it running.

But if you dig up, a lot of threads in the past were allowed to be posted when people had genuine concerns. We even have a vendor feedback subforum specifically for that. In many cases though, a lot of these threads were requested to be taken down by their OPs simply because they reach some sort of resolution with that vendor.
But "GTM can eat a large bag of syphilitc *****." is ok?

This is not me defending GTM. I've never owned anything from them. But I'm just saying.

Yes. It is ok. They're no longer members here. I can and will say what I want to say about them. As can anyone else. What wasn't allowed and hasn't been allowed and won't be allowed is for members to bash vendors in vendors sponsored threads. That's always been the way it has been. In fact, I specifically had administration create a forum just so members could vent or praise or rant or say whatever they wanted about vendors. Posts there have not been deleted by me or any other staff member unless it was requested by the person posting it. I didn't delete anyone's posts bashing GTM or any other vendor unless it was posted in the vendor's sponsored thread which is a no no. Or something else that was well beyond the scope of forum rules. There's no way to make that clearer. People who don't understand that simply don't want to understand. GTM are no longer members. Say WTF you want to say about them now. I did.

FWIW, I finally got the last of my money back. Through my CC, not refunded by them directly.

"Now" is a different story than "then". These people saying I told you so are chiming in after the fact. At the time of the MHI group buy GTM had plenty of instances of taking longer than promised to deliver. Everyone (including me) knew or should have known that and gone in with their eyes open. I did. What had not happened at that time is GTM going dark on forums and being banned, refusing to take or return customer calls, and being unwilling or unable to refund payments in a timely way for parts or services not delivered. I fully expected it to take much longer than the "4 to 6 weeks" I was told by Mike at GTM that it would take for the parts to be ready to ship when they first accepted my full payment on this buy. I guesstimated more like 4 to 6 months. Even when that time came and went I was completely fine because I wasn't in any rush. My problem only began when paying customers bailed out and weren't able to get their refunds right away. That's a completely different thing than parts taking a long time. The parts themselves might be fine when or if they materialize. I have no problem with anyone who still wants to wait for the parts. I'm not going to be a smug ***** and harass them for having plenty of patience if they still want their turbo kits from GTM. But since the OP is completely new I presumed he didn't know the history of the situation. If he knows and still wants to buy their stuff he's got info to make an informed decision. Maybe he's local and GTM might give a crap or at least be happy to take his money? They've got to get the money to issue MHI group buy refunds from somewhere.

I recently got my down payment back from GTM. Took about 2 months from when I requested it to actually receive the check.

I had held the remainder of the payment out until I starting seeing some kits shipped out. Obviously after 1+ year this has not happened. I could get him on the phone on a regular basis but it was always "waiting on castings" or something else. Sam tried to offer me an oil pan in place of some of the refund.

Just beware dealing with that company.

All I ever got was that Sam was the only person who could give me a refund and he was either never there, busy, or on another call. They took my number to have him call me back as soon as he was free. He hadn't been free since June I guess.

What actual excuse were you given as to why they couldn't simply process a credit card refund immediately when you requested it (presuming you paid by CC)?

After being avoided a few times I decided to just file a dispute with the credit card company for non delivery of goods. Of course it was difficult due to how long ago payment was made. We figured a way around that and I finally got all my money back. What should have taken 5-10 minutes took about 60 days.

If I were purchasing parts that I could see and receive in person at the time of payment and I didn't need support, I might consider it. But probably not because if there is a problem or warranty issue down the road I have no confidence that GTM will still exist.

I learned I had to call him around 12 ET to get him on the phone, any other time of the day I would get Pablo or Blake who would both tell me I need to speak to Sam. They would always take my message and I would never get a call back.

I actually had paid by check, and he did try to give me an excuse about the CC companies. It got to the point would I just keep on calling and emailing and then I eventually got my money back. No idea why there was such a long delay, I can only guess that they don't have enough money on hand to provide timely refunds.

This is exactly what I'm thinking too. The fact that you got the CC runaround when you paid by check is telling. Do they not have an accounting record of your actual purchase or are they simply conditioned to use that CC excuse? I've given tons of credit card refunds. All that's required is a simple card swipe or key entry. It doesn't require any skill that only Sam possesses. Mike was qualified enough to take my credit card payment (in a matter of less than one minute) but he can't process the refund? It doesn't take any time to "process" other than several seconds for the transaction to go through. What's happening is that they are robbing Peter to pay Paul. Bernie Madoff must be running the show behind the scenes. We all know how it ended up for him when the house came tumbling down. I seriously doubt that it started off that way, but this has become a Ponzi scheme. Nobody can get a payout until someone else has paid in.

Damn. Disappointed but not surprised. For anyone else still attempting to get a refund, this gives you a name of their attorney to get in touch with to try to get your money back. It probably won't be easy and you may not succeed, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try.
