6 speed reverse problem

So I just had slave cylinder go out n got that fixed and had a new clutch put in as well, but got my car back with a problem... I have an 08 37s 6 speed and In order to put it into reverse, I got to push down then throw it R... Got it back and now I don't need to do it.... Dropped it back off at the mechanic and he couldn't figure it out and said he called infiniti but they said it was "rare" ?!?!?

Are you sure that's what he was?

You usually get what you pay for

THIS!!! 100% this. You'll need to adjust your shifter guide plate. The 370Z write up/DIY shows how to do it for a Z, the G's trim is rather different.

The service manual shows how to disassemble and remove the center console, one of the early steps is to remove the shift ****. I wasn't sure I could do this without damaging it, so I did this all with the shift **** in place. It took me a couple of hours and a few printouts from the factory service manual.

Remember to do the adjustment on level ground.
