New transmission under warranty.

I have a 2010 G37 Sport Coupe 6mt with about 54,000 miles. The clutch makes noise when the pedal is out and not in gear. The dealership replaced the clutch in September and the noise went away. For about a day. However the feel and drivability with the new clutch was a 1000 times better than the old one. Fast forward to now. The drivability is crappy again and the noise is worse. The car is back at the dealer. They just called me and said they're replacing the transmission and will inspect / replace the clutch when they take the transmission out. Any thoughts on what could be causing the clutch drivability to start out good and progressively get worse?

its called a throw out bearing.. known issue.

Good news for you is that the noise wont hurt your transmission or engine, its just an annoying noise.

Input shaft bearing. It's not the clutch at all.

Ditch your inferior phone and get an iPhone. You'll have a thanks button.

Car is ready. Can't pick it up till tomorrow. The service lady said they replaced the transmission because of a third gear synco and installed a new flywheel, pressure plate, and the "fork" that makes the disk release. She said the fork wasn't applying even pressure on the disk and was causing uneven wear. That might explain why the clutch feel was inconsistent. So, this is my second new clutch in 7 months. And now a new transmission as well. Hope they fixed the problem this time. Oh, and I had the RJM pedal installed both times and not a word was said about it. Hope this info helps someone with their clutch/transmission problems.

Forks? Our cars don't have forks, they have csc's. Maybe that's what she meant.

I'm pretty sure that's what she meant. She may have been trying to explain it so I could understand, not knowing that I know more about that car than most of her technicians. Quite frankly, I don't care if they replaced the fork, the spoon and the knife as long as its fixed. Lol...

My baby is back in my garage. New trans. New clutch. The trans shifts smoother than the old one and the clutch feels normal again. But the clutch felt normal the last time they replaced it. I hope the combination of a new clutch and a new trans will fix it. Time will tell...
