Is my clutch going bad?

Its been a while since I posted something and wanted to get some advice before I get my clutched inspected by Infiniti for $150. So this is whats going on, I can pretty much get my car on first gear without pressing the gas at all before I wasn't able to do that because the RPM will drop really low and the car will turn off. Another thing I noticed is sometimes my car will not go in to 2nd gear like something is blocking it but when I keep moving the shifter down to 2nd gear it eventually goes in and I wont have the problem again but this happens sometimes not all the times. What could be the problem? Do you think my Elite Extended Warranty will cover the repair if the clutch disc is not the problem?

An easy way to tell if it's the clutch is to put it in 5th or 6th and give it full throttle. If the engine revs up, your clutch is slipping. What you are describing might be synchro issues in your tranny.

I dont think the clutch is slipping because the problem started out of no where and the 2nd gear issue doesn't happen while I'm driving, it only happens if I'm parked and I press down the clutch and move the shifter from first to second it also happens in first gear also sometimes. I'm gonna get it checked out by Infiniti regardless cause I don't want anything else to go bad but thanks for the input. Do you think the elite warranty will cover the problem if the clutch disc is not the issue or if the clutch is slipping is that covered also?

Not 100 percent an expert on this, but it sounds like more of a transmission issue than a clutch issue to me. That sounds like transmission notchiness you're describing. I have it going into 1st gear sometimes when the transmission is cold. In 1st, it's not a big deal, you simply shift as the clutch leaves the floor and it works fine. In a higher gear though... I would bring it to Infiniti as that would get annoying fast.

Thanks for the input. I will take it in to Infiniti but not this weekend cause there is another snow storm coming this weekend in Chicago so need to wait till next weekend. I'll keep you guys updated.
