G37 0-60 Throttle restriction?

I know so far the Hypertech and uprev both offer the 0-60 throttle restriction.

Which from reading around sounds true. Basically opens up more when flooring it/no lag?

I don't think hypertech price is worth it if I'm only Interested in that feature. Th uprev is expensive $595 for the software/tune and they also recommend HFC's, which I'm not crazy about how they sound.

Does uprev offer just that feature at much cheaper price?

what's your opinion on the hypertech?

Is the removal of the 0-60 throttle restriction true? I seen lot of positive stuff and there pretty inexpensive used.

Any small benefits when having intakes, y pipe, axle back exhaust?

It's true but its not spending all that for throttle derestriction. Just get some other minor supporting mods and get a full tune.

I've never used the Hypertech so I can't say from experience. Way too much money for too little. I bought a used UpRev cable for just a little bit more that is useful for a whole lot more. If you don't have supporting mods, I don't see much value in almost any tuning but that's just my opinion.

the throttle restriction isnt worth couple hundred used?

I really want to stop at the following;

-kn duel intakes
-tanabe axle back exhaust
-e.d y pipe

the above is gonna sound great

I'm not crazy about how hfc's/test pipe sound, install is hard, hiss noise, lil raspy and the full tune is like $600...

thats reason looking at this route

I really just wanna stop at intakes, mufflers and y pipe.

I don't wanna even do as much as messing with the stock cats.

So your saying those few minor things even a uprev tune isnt worth it?

I just thought the throttle removal is cool. That in itself seems worth it for couple hundered dollars. I wouldnt buy a new one thats for sure

There's no such thing as removing the throttle restriction.
Well, there is, but its not recommended.

Throttle is controlled mostly with the VVEL system, the throttle body doesn't play the same part in our "fly by wire" system" as in a cable scenario.
What the throttle map does is correlate your pedal movement to acceleration.

You CAN make this 1:1, like a cable, but it's really hard to control the car.
So a response map is drawn, it can be modified to react a little better, but theres a finite amount you can do before the response becomes non-linear. I know, Ive played with both!!

Part 2

You dont need HFCs, I don't use them.
With a Stillen Gen3, and 2.5" Fuji exhaust, along with a tune (that was mainly to rebalance the AFR) I gained a good 20 RWHP.

Throttle map was adjusted mainly to get rid of the lag.

A tune with license can be had for ~$500

I think it was worth it.

Actually used UpRev cables can be had for $350-400 in classified forum.

Interesting...

Well the local by me is $595. That's more then I would want to spend.

that's why was looking into hypertech a used one.

to me the quicker throttle response and possible base tune improvement seem like its worth it. Idk... lol

There's lot of positive feedback

I know uprev is better but it's also about 2-3x the price...

I had a Hypertech for a brief time, and I can tell you it makes the engine run lean.
I actually heard detonation with my intakes at the time.
In their defense, there has been an upgrade since then, that uses CAIs in their tunes.
But to me, it wasnt worth the $350 spent.

If you're south Florida, there are quite a few G owners there, get a recommendation for a tuner.

seems hard to believe that would sell a tuner that makes the car run that lean

It's a generic, canned tune!!

No 2 cars are alike, else I would exchange my UpRev tune with others!!

Here's an ECT MAP I use that is as far as you can go without it being crazy.
Very linear, guaranteed to spin the wheels from a stop on a 7AT at full throttle.

Copy the hex, and paste over an ECT MAP.
