Car shakes @ 1500 RPM

Hi All,

I'm a long time Infiniti owner. I had a 05 G35 coupe 6MT, then 07 G35x. Last Sunday, I traded the X sedan for a Used 2011 G37S Sedan 6mt.

I noticed something unusual with my RPM yesterday. When I rev my engine the needle would pause @ 1500rpm for a second and my engine would shake a little then back to the idle position. No mechanical issue with the vehicle, it drives fine. I contacted my nearest dealership and scheduled a time to diagnosis the issue. I just want to get everyone's opinion for what I should expect. I tried ECU reset, but that didnt solve the problem. Could it be a dirt TB? Please let me know your thoughts so I can bring to the Tech's attention.

ps - car is stock

Andy

Cleaning the throttle bodies would be a starting point.

Unless your dealer is really nice, they'll likely charge you for this service as it is a maintenance item... Good luck.

I believe this is perfectly normal behavior. The rev limiter kicks in when not in gear.

Not at 1500 rpm. Mine has issues like the OP on occasions as well. When not in gear and I rev, it will go up pass 2k. But as it drops down, it will hover around 1500 for a few seconds, then drops back down to about 500. I'm sure my TB needs a cleaning.
