Thanks for the status update, Rad_Slinger.

Your experience is just one more on the list of people who get these cats, throw a code within a few days... that gets cleared, and doesn't come back. I'd love to know what the explanation for that is.

FI offers optional O2 bungs for $20/each side. I'm assuming that's to facilitate the aftermarket tuning process, yes?

Your guess is as good as mine buddy, and as stated above...we'd be fools to start coming up with reasons cause its out of our element.

But...

...I thought the point of the extra bungs was two-fold: support for wide-band sensor(s) for active tuning with a piggy-back, and support for ECU flash-tuning at an authorized shop, like you're about to do with UpRev.

I realize this opens the door for tuning-experienced members to jump in and slap me, but that's OK. I'm not proud.

From what I'm understanding, it's not mandatory to have an extra bung to get tuned.

Meaning... what? That they're going to temporarily swap out your O2 Sensors with wideband sensors for the process?

You're like my guinea pig, man. I'm watching you, and filing this info away for future use.

Haha. I can't really comment on the tuning process since I haven't done it yet. But as I said above, it's only what I hear.

Soon as I get it done, I'll comment on how they did it and what I am told by the tuners.

I'm headed to a tuner in NH that was recommended by WPPJR30(bill). I trust his judgement and recommendation, so I'm headed there.

I'll ask them your question and get back to ya.

Performance motor sports in St. James, NY (great guys) installed my FI RHFC on the stock exhaust. One issue is one of my O2 sensors was stuck no matter what was done. I had to get a new one. This was not cool but that's life. Apart from strong exhaust sent car sounds the same at idle. Things I noticed:
1. Slight vibration at idle but no rasp or drone
2. Loss of low end torque in D, DS and M modes. Car is noticeably sluggish in gears 1-3 but rockets off in 4-5 at higher RPM. My friend driving behind me noticed the lag. DS is the choice of driving now as it is better than D or M.
3. I only hear a difference in sound at acceleration over 50 mph.
4. ECU is learning the addition of FI RHFC
5. No CEL (day 2)
6. Will add a CBE in the future and do a tune to have the car run at its best.

Got the tune. No cels. Midrange HP/TQ jumped like 15. My tuner did a very conservative tune because its a DD. he focused on midrange rather than top end. Car is definitely more responsive.

All in all I'm very happy. He could have been a little more aggressive with the pedal delay, but he said if I want more, I could just drop by and he'd hook me up.

Getting a lot of VQ decel hiss from 2400-1900ish. I think that's due to not getting RHFC and going with just regular HFC, but the exhaust sounds excellent.

Again, I have had ZERO issues since that first CEL. Sound Still brings a smile to my face.

Thanks, Buddy. A 15 hp/tq bump in midrange is great.

Here's a tuning noob question... When tuning the car, did he disconnect one/both of your O2 Sensors and connect a wideband sensor(s) for the process? Recall my original question, on why you didn't get one or two extra bungs in your HFCs.
