I used to think my '08 Civic was a bit laggy at times, by comparison the G is absolutely horrible. My work truck shifts much faster and more predictably, and it has major tranny issues and slips in and out of gear trying to downshift while flooring it. Several times in my G I've needed instant power and for what seems like a full 2 seconds theres just... nothing. I usually manage to utter the entire phrase "What the ****!?" before anything happens. How hard is it to program a car to immediately select the lowest gear possible when the accelerator is pressed down all the way? It's as if the car is questioning my judgement and I find it to be bull****.

I agree the car shifts too quickly into 7th gear then doesn't want to leave until you either floor it or let it run down to 1k rpms when it downshifts automatically. When I press the throttle more than halfway I want a gear change instead I get a low drone and no response.

I might sell the car just cause I can't take it anymore.. 2013 GTI 6 speed here I come!!!

Sounds like the OP may be hitting traction control; when it kicks in to its maximum extent it will definitely stall things out to the point of it being a safety issue. With 328 hp, really low 1st and 2nd gears, and RWD, it's easy to to do. Add in summer tires that aren't warmed up and/or a bit of wetness, and it's gonna happen a lot. This is why I went with the x. I live where it rains A LOT and there is a lot of traffic (need to merge quickly). My previous car with ~90 less hp and FWD had major traction issues. Even so, I've hit TC in quick merge situations a few times in the G37x and it's not pretty.

In my experience though any car I've driven with TC will do the same - it will significantly cut power/wheel speed when it's fully activated.

every indication here of lag competely replicates the parameters for vdc kicking in, I chalk this up to driver error.

My '09 cc 3.6l VR6 had virually no lag at all! If your talking about the 2.0T then I can agree with that but even then it's not that bad. My '07 A4 2.0T had some serious lag though!

I get lag with no response on a turn, mainly right turns. it is probably a built in safety feature of the vdc, I think so because im not even breaking the tires lose and I still get the lag. only seems to happen in low speed corners.

We must find a way to disable VDC for the summer months (other than hitting the button at every start-up) and see if the lag returns

You do know there is a difference from turbo lag vs transmission lag.
IMO trans software just is crap, I have had this happen.

Unless its raining, 1st thing I do is turn of the tsc/vdc

Sorry for no update in a year. I spoke with a lawyer but never went beyond that. For anyone else experiencing this, I have since had the transmission replaced under warranty and computer flashed and this seems to have greatly alleviated the issue. There is definitely a problem with some cars. Like some of the posts here, you will know if your vehicle is affected.
