So recently when go to bed and start the car in the morning there is a whining/whirling noise when the clutch is depressed or in 1st gear.it goes away after the car is fully warmed up.my guess is thr throw out bearing is worn out.any input?
So i've been hearing this noise for a lil while now, maybe a few weeks, and last night while coming home from family dinner my clutch pedal hit the floor and didn't come back up, I finally got home by basically slamming it into 3rd gear and babying it the rest of the way, My car will not even go into gear. Are you ready for the best part? I was suppose to my car in this thrus for the new G37XS... I have a feeling i'm screwed, Someone i spoke said it would be covered but i find that next to impossible. Another person i spoke to said Infiniti might take it in anyway. I did not mean to hijack your thread MORAL of my story is baby that clutch or get it looked at Right away so you don't end up in my situation..
Throw out bearing noise occurs when the car is in neutral, not in gear.
The fact of whether the car is in gear or in neutral has zero to do with throw out bearing noise. Clutch disengaged(pedal down) is the typical noisy throw out bearing scenario.

Then what is the sound all MT G's make when the clutch is engaged while in neutral that lessens when the pedal is depressed?
My 2008 Infiniti G37s 6MT has started to hum when I am in neutral and the clutch is depressed. When I press in the clutch the noise goes away. It is only a light hum right now but i assume it will get louder. I am still under warranty and was wondering if I should bother taking it to the dealer because I hear that they will claim it is a normal noise. Any suggestions??
