09 G37 tapping after oil change....Help!!
I took it to the dealer and they checked it out and ordered two new
catalytic convertors for it.
Mattster was right about my just not noticing it before.
I never heard of replacing cats at 21K miles but at least it's
free of charge. The parts alone would probably cost a couple hundred bucks or more!

Thank you all for your help and advice. I like it here! I just need to find
where they keep the cooler with the beer!

Did this problem go away? I just changed my oil from Mobil 1 synthetic to Castrol synthetic today and it started making the same noise that you described. I know its not from my cats because I dont have any.. The noise is comming from the passenger side of the engine near the firewall, sounds like tapping from inside the engine. Oil level has been checked and is good. Any help would be appreciated.
Its been documented before by one of the magazines on their long term vq (g37 or 370z?) that the Nissan/infiniti ester oil is quieter on the top end (valves etc.). I'd switch to ester oil, either nissan/inf. branded or I believe other full synthetics have ester components, maybe motul? Try this first.
I remember when used Penz. synthetic instead of mobil 1 on my old bimmer , I could tell a noticeable amt. of top end noise, which went away when I switched back to mobl1
