Ummm .. let me break it to you.. There are absolutely no "reputable" chips ever made for a G other than the EBay stuff. Don't get fooled into buying those as our ECU will toast that thing in no time and maybe harm your brand new car in this case.
Chips are more made for factory FI (Forced Induction) cars like BMW 335i where they can play around with the turbo timings/boost. Even on a supercharged car, the chips don't do much.
Now, if you are talking about ECU re-flash/tuning on these cars like the Cobbs AP and other tuners, then you are thinking it right. I would recommend a tune (using a different map than stock) only if you have some breathing mods (aftermarket intake/Test Pipes/Exhaust... etc etc) installed and you want to bring out maximum potential out of them. Getting a tune on a stock car is basically next to useless.
Search around and see what your options are and am sure you will find tons of info. I see that you have an AWD sedan and am sure "by now" there are lot of aftermarket parts available. I would recommend starting with the breathing mods and then get a tune. If you need 20-30 whp gains you will have to open up your pockets.
And please don't waste your money on ebay chips. They will do nothing but harm/void your warranty.
Search around the forum. Use "Modding 411" section.
Congrats on your sedan. These cars are solid performers from the factory itself, but, happy modding !!

Cobb no longer supports Infiniti, never supported ATs.

Hypertech has a flash device with a canned tune, gives you a small bump, and helps the slow throttle response, theres one for sale in the classifieds.

An UpRev tune runs ~$500, including the tuners labor and dyno runs.

Thanks ... didn't know they don't support it anymore but did know they don't make it for Automatic transmissions. I was just using it as an example

Look into uprev Osiris, it's the only real tuning option for our cars
