Hey guys,

I got a 2008 g37s 5-AT with 56,000kms (35,000 miles) and for the last couple days its been acting up. When i put the car into reverse it doesn't seem to want to back up right away. There have been times where i have gotten the revs up to 2500-3000rpm just for it to back up. When it does finally decide to back up it violently jerks. The problem is only with reverse when i have it in drive there is no such problem. Im not sure what the problem is and was wondering if anyone of you guys have experienced anything like this. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

well...i have the same issue but not that bad.. it's a 2008 g37s 5-AT have 60,000km, when put into "D" I can feel that there's no immediate response, it takes 2-3 seconds for the car to roll forward plus a knocking sound when put in reverse or changing to "D" is it normal for the car to behave like that???

 

Umm ... am gonna shoot in the dark (as this is an online portal and i haven't physically seen the car) ... check you emergency brake. It's a 4 year old car and it might be possible that they are jammed. They don't need to be engaged at your end but the plate might be jammed. If you hear a "clunk" sound when it finally starts rolling, there's a high chance this is it. Good luck !!

 

Is this just on cold starts? Is the car parked on an incline before the cold start?

G35driver has more people with 5ATs. Seems like a common thing for it.
