Tanabe Full System Exhaust
So i recently bought a the Tanabe Y pipe, Center pipe and Axleback.
Question is: Does that mean i still have to buy a HFC? or does the Y pipe replace that? If the HFC stays then Should i keep it stock or what brand of HFC is good with the Full Tanabe exhaust system? Been looking but only found Berk or Stillen HFC with Tanabe axle backs and not the full system.
Anyone have this full setup with a different HFC or keep it stock? No idea if my Y pipe replaces the HFC or not.. noob question

The components of your exhaust system in the G are (from engine to tail pipe) exhaust manifolds (some will refer to them as headers), catalytic converters, Y pipe, mid pipe, muffler.
The parts you have are replacing the Y, mid pipe, and muffler. If you choose to replace the catalytic converters with HFC (High Flow Catalytic converters), that's a completely separate item than what you already have. There are HFC options form Berk, Stillen, Invidia, Kinetix, and probably a few more that I'm forgetting. There are also test pipes that allow even more flow but do not include catalytic converters at all. Test pipes are illegal everywhere. They also allow the exhaust to put out much more emissions than allowable anywhere so if you have emissions testing in Bexar county, you will fail with test pipes. They also cause the exhaust to have a strong fuel smell that con sometimes even be smelled in the cabin. They cause any exhaust to sound louder and raspier (except the Motordyne ART pipes which are not raspy or excessively loud).

The only HFC I have personal experience with on the G is Berk. They have good build quality and great customer service. I can't say what the merits of the others are.
However I wouldn't recommend Kinetix. Not because I now anything about their HFC but because I don't think much of them as a company. Their suspension products are POS and I'm put out with them that they charged me a 25% restocking fee for returning their crappy POS suspension parts when they could have easily waived that since they were still BNIB and resalable. Oh well. So I just choose presume that all their parts are a low quality as their suspension parts are.

or you could just not buy any HFC at all and keep it the way you have it, YES you will gain some HP will HFC, but it all depends on waht you like, read up on some on the preexisting threads, theres a thousand to read from, and will asnwer all your questions

You'll definitely have to consider an Uprev dyno tune after you purchase the hfc so you have the right air/fuel ration and get maximum hp possible. I’m waiting to get the CBE/HFC and uprev tune in one shot. Looking at Fast Intentions combo. Not to thread jack since it relevant
, but how much hp can you expect with just the HFC w/o tune and w/ tune?…may it bet berk/stillen/FI.

I read about UpRev.. i heard its a waste of money for the one time use.. cant you just bring ur car to a shop and just have them use their little things to change ur air/fuel ratio for like $50 bux or somthing, spending $700 for a Osiris Uprev.. kinda to much =\
1 of all you dont buy tht uprev software from UPREV, after youve done all you bolts on you take your car that is a licensed UPREV tuner, and they TUNE your car. putting ne exhasut intake, and especially HFc your air/flow ratio is all outta wack. SOO that being said you can MOD your car completely but withouyt a tune your just wasting your money on bolt ons
and its not 700 bucks either, the Pro tuner takes your car for like 5 hours and dynos it and completely remaps your ECU, the TUNE is the most important part of modding your car! but DONT get a tune until your done modding
