Driveshaft Upgrade

Wanting to know if anyone has switched their driveshaft yet? Z1motorsports just came out with their 1 piece aluminum one for $428. The carbon fiber one will be a little down the road.

Also if you dont know the 370z comes stock with a carbon fiber driveshaft. So if you want to keep up in that category make a move. I was told from Z1 it is being sold as a REPLACEMENT PART only. They do not say you will get more HP on the dyno but 16 lbs less than the current shaft will definetly lower your 60 ft time noticably and allow you to rev faster so you might get 5 hp or so early in your dyno curve.

Thoughts?

Lightening rotational mass will always be beneficial. I would go with the aluminum one though.

Z1 G37 Platinum Series Aluminum 1-Piece Driveshaft

Why would aluminum be better than cf?

I don't know that it is. But regardless this is a big difference in weight from stock.

cf is better than aluminum idk why he said that, hence why they put it on the 370z hence why the gtr has it. i have priced 2 places that custom make carbon fiber and they are around 900. the difference between them wouldnt be worth the money unless you like to be a one upper lol

Why didn't infiniti use a single piece driveshaft in the first place? It'd be cheaper to make, and you'd have one less U joint to possibly fail.

It's not. I just feel that aluminum is stronger.

Idk, but as long as it goes past 60,000 miles which the stock ones will, it wont cost them.

I used to have a 91 Supra Turbo and Toyota did the same thing with 2 piece shaft. After a bit that center carrier bearing wears out so a one piece did me wonders. You can actually feel the car get up to speed faster. I think it is worth it but I wouldn't spend no $900 on a CF one. The aluminum one works just as well.

Jealous! Can you please do a before and after dyno run??? Since Z1 wont do one I would like to see one. Its hard to believe what people "feel". I know it will feel faster but the big question is HOW MUCH lol
