Who has a Stillen G37 Supercharger? Numbers, pics, vids!
Guys question, air to air intercooler insted of the stillen water to air with the frozen zone upgraded water cooler.
Another question, keep my berk hfc or go to test pipes instead, I hear that the cats get blown out with the supercharger.
Thanks

Any cats will all apart. According to Stiller you actually have a little more power with cats due to the back pressure, but it isn't worth it to keep replacing your cats.

I'm getting a Stillen SC in about a week. Lot's of parts ordered and delivered. The shop is about to install everything next week. Duel pressure plate clutch, 600cc nozzles, invidia gemini exhaust, berk test pipes, tune (uprev I think).
I'm scared to death. I'm most worried about insurance. I'm not sure how that works when modding a car like this.
Anyway, I will keep you all posted on how it goes.

I've heard pretty good things about these guys locally so I really hope I'm making the right choice.
What do people do about insurance though? Do they get specialty insurance? I did my homework before making any decisions but that never came up until the 11th hour.
I'm okay with voiding the drive train warranty. I just don't want to end up with a vehicle I cant drive and have fun with.
It's being done by J-Tune in Wilmington, DE.

I was planning on having this be a daily driver. I work a whopping 3.8 miles from home. I've read horror stories of insurance companies either dropping or denying claims based on Engine upgrades. How true these are is up for debate. At any rate, I think State Farm is able to insure with no issues. I'm not as worried about the part's replacement as I am with liability. I will keep all paperwork and receipts and simply stay safe. I'm a 41 year old man with a clean driving record. I'll just play it safe, like I've always done. All should be okay.

Is your kit a CARB kit? If so, you won't have any liability problems. Even if not, I doubt there would be any issues with what this mod does for a car. The only times I have seen an insurance deny a claim (I used to work at a tuning shop, so have heard a number of horror stories) was based on a car being outside of DOT safety regulations. In this one case, it was because the car was too low - below the DOT bumper height minimum - and he rear-ended a truck. So the adjuster's claim was low because the insurance didn't want to cover the hood damage saying that if the car was at the stock height, it wouldn't have damaged the hood. BUT that was at the discretion of the adjuster, and definitely not a common thing. I think that technically, insurance adjusters *CAN* deny a claim based on aftermarket parts, but really, it's not normal for them to do so.
The other thing you could attempt to do is send over receipts once you have the hardware on the car, and see if the insurance can add that to the value of your car for replacement value if the SC gets damaged in an accident. If they accept it, they will raise your premiums. But they probably wouldn't accept it, because they wouldn't want to be the backstop if it breaks and you get nowhere with the Stillen warranty for replacement. Your call on trying to go that route. With all of my cars, I only mention the aftermarket parts if I ever get into an accident.

Thanks for the reply. It can't hurt to contact a different insurance company that I'm not already with. I did call a few insurance companies. They said to definitely fax over the work order and they have no issue with the modification. They said that they rarely deny a claim, but have no problems denying claims for when their drivers are doing something illegal. Illegal drag racing on public roads, drunk driving, etc.
Being that I spent crazy amounts of money on the car itself and the mods that are coming, I have no desire to abuse the car.
I think it's going to be all right. I just get very paranoid after all the money getting dumped into it.
I'm excited though!
