I agree that the 245s are too small, but I am curious to know how you got 305s on. New wheels I assume... 10" with different offset? I moved up one size to 255s and had slight rubbing on the shock. I've been told that the biggest we can go on the stock wheel is 275. I think the kind of tire is important also. I was running Nitto Invos... Now on Super Sports and they are way better in hooking up.

Second question is on the e-tune from Stillen. How exactly does that work? Are you data logging and sending them a file or are you working with them on a dyno? I only ask because I was told that was the only way to refine the generic baseline tune they provide. I abandoned the Stillen tune and went custom. I have been back once to take out a rich bog at 2500. Still getting to know the car... Probably needs a little more adjusting as I see my AFR go rich when I punch it and then normalizes. Overall I am very happy with the performance of my car. Not GT-R fast, not the best from a dig, but from a roll it is very quick

The rears are a 305/30/19 on a 19x10.5 +43 in the rear. I have a post in the Wheel and Tire forum:

https://www.myg37.com/forums/wheels-...ml#post3918305

^ My post is in the last few pages of that thread. Offset is very important for fitting the most tire in a wheel well.

As for the e-tune, yes, they send a tune, I flash it and get a log, send back the log, and they make adjustments. If you've ever tuned a car on a dyno, it's the same thing - you're adjusting parameters in the tune to work around the measured parameters of the car on a full throttle run, cold start, closed loop/open loop transition, tip-in enrichment, etc. Basically, whatever you want to address in how the car drives, you take a 'snapshot' of when the car is doing it. This is done via logging. So it really doesn't matter if the car is on a dyno or not. Of course, being on a dyno is a much more controlled environment so you can hone in on the problems a lot faster. I can tune a car, yes, but I'm sticking with the Stillen process because I've already paid for it (turn-key kit), so I want to get my money's worth out of it before I move on.

Your rich bog is probably due to Throttle Tip-in Enrichment. It's fairly easy to tune out, depending on how the software architecture affects the tune. Ask your tuner, it might just be one value that he changes and then sends back to you. If I was e-tuning you, I wouldn't need a log for it. But I don't know this software, so it could be a lot more complicated than that.

Hey guys, just wanted to update this thread on my experience so far with the newly installed Stillen supercharger. As a recap, it's a CARB legal, turn-key kit, which I added the 3.5" thick Frozenboost heat exchanger to. The car also has a CSF radiator, and a Z1 34 row oil cooler.

Well, after the initial break-in of everything for the first 1,000 miles, I drove it across the country. Around 7,300 miles in total in the last month taking Route 66 (the southern route) from Baltimore to LA, and then up to SF and I 90/80 (the northern route) back. Elevation changed from sea level up to 8,000ish ft through the Rockys and Sierra Nevadas, and temps were between upper 50's to around 100 in the desert. Oh, and I drove through what turned out to be 3 tornados, so A LOT of rain.

I'm happy to report that the car was rock solid for the whole trip. I still had tuning issues, but the Stillen guys were quick to send me revisions, and the car is pretty solid now. It's not perfect, but that's the way E-Tuning goes. It gets you in the ballpark, and you hope the ECU can clear the gap to keep you running smoothly, which it did. Considering I was switching between 91/93/Economy maps on the fly, I was pretty happy with the way it handled it.

Some notes on the car with the supercharger:
- I'm really happy i went with a supercharger instead of a turbo. The instant throttle response is worth not having the highest HP number.
- Install was pretty simple. And it's fairly clever how they fit everything under the hood.
- All of my temps were in check or cooler than stock, thanks to my CSF radiator and Z1 oil cooler. ~180F on water, and ~180-200 for oil.
- AFR's were steady at 14.7 while cruising. It swings really rich with 100% throttle in the high RPM's, but that's safe, and it feels like a 400whp car, so I don't think I'm leaving too much on the table. (Yes, I have a lot of experience tuning and building many 400+ whp cars, and this is in the ballpark. My guess is it would dyno between 385-410 depending on the dyno.)
- Real gas mileage that I experienced was 23-24 mpg - ALL highway, fairly flat, with the whole tank done on one startup steady between 80-90mph. The fuel mileage was calculated at the pump, dividing the amount of miles driven by the amount of fuel added to top up the tank.
- Around town, gas mileage is pretty bad. Something in the mid to high teens, but I haven't driven a whole tank in the city yet. I suspect that my average MPG over a whole tank, now that I'm back and using the car as a daily driver, will be around 17-19 MPG.
- The highest speed I reached over the course of the drive was a GPS verified 144 mph. It was still pulling hard and had plenty of gear left.

Overall, I'm really happy with the car and the supercharger kit. I still think the tune can be cleaned up, but overall, it's exactly what I wanted - enough power for a track day, absolutely immediate throttle response, and well mannered for daily driving. I feel like the supercharger turned the car into a very well rounded car that does everything pretty damn well!

Thanks for reading my story. I'll update this thread with my continued experience with this setup. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask, I'm happy to help out!

Lastly, here are a couple pics from the drive:

Great to hear that you are happy with the SC RadioFlyer! I still have moments when I wonder if I made the right choice. The lag (dead response) I have below 3K in my opinion is way worse that the turbo that I have driven. I also miss the big low end TQ that you get from a turbo. The problem with a SC is the parasitic loss that you simply can't get away from. Still... it is what it is and I will have to be happy with it. Your car looks great!

Mine is presently in the shop getting a new clutch installed Stock one lasted 2K miles LOL. I went with the South Bend Stage 3, Billet flywheel. I'm interested to see if the lighter flywheel will hep me get into the power band faster.

I have the same clutch and flywheel - my stock clutch started slipping as soon as I installed the supercharger. That and my 305's in the rear put a lot more stress on the clutch.

Wow... Are you running 305s on stock rims? I was told the max I could go was 275. BTW my gas mileage is about the same. My last tank was 22.5MPG on a bigger gallon... So take off 20%. Mixed driving... 60% highway. In the city is bad... My cruising range has dropped from just over 300miles to maybe 220 on a tank. So about a 30% reduction... This car was never great for mileage... That is not what I bought it for LOL😎

No, I'm on a set of Ray's Gram Lights. I just put my stock wheels and tires on for the cross country drive. Yes, for stock wheels, 275 would be all I'd want to put on them. Here's a pic of my Rays:

Yup, 19x9.5 +35(F); 19x10.5 +43(R). Tires are: 265/30/19; 305/30/19. Not totally happy with the front tire size. I have width clearance, and they're about a half inch shorter than the rear, so I'm thinking about changing them out for a 275/35/19 in the front.

Radio... how is the chatter on your clutch? I get some at idle and then it is fine. Not as obnoxious as I have heard with lightweight flywheels but I am wishing I would have stuck to my guns and got the "quiet disc". The sales guy at Concept Z talked me out of it as he figured it was only for the aluminum flywheel.

Thanks, I'm already subscribed to that thread. In for the testing results. It looks very promising, but I want to wait until it's all sorted before I get my hopes up too much. But yes, it addresses the weakest point in the system. I just want to see it in production and operation before I get too excited.

The clutch is totally fine - I have the quiet disk, and it's silent at idle, but as I'm pulling away, it rattles at around 1,500 or so, just as I'm getting moving. Quiet otherwise. Oh, I'm assuming you're talking about the dumptruck noise that lightweight flywheels make. If you're talking about clutch judder, I don't have any issues with that.
