Well I just got back from a trip in my 09 G37x and while I was horsing around (as we all do) the RPM's dipped into red for a fraction of a second. This caused the SLIP light to appear for a "fraction of a second". This was going from 1st to 2nd.

All I want to know is could I have possibly caused any damage to the driveline/engine?

I know it's not like I buried the needle to 8k it was at 7,600-7,700RPM's. Just making sure the baby is fine.

Anyone know what the (SLIP) light means by chance? My manual isn't with me ATM.

No, your engine is fine. That's why there is a rev limiter.

Slip light means your wheels are losing traction and slipping.

I hit redline on a daily basis, doing fine at 19K miles!!

As a matter of fact it hit redline 10 times in one hour while getting dyno tuned.DOMO

You'll never hit 8K RPMs, the rev limiter will kick in!!

 

When the slip light appears it means there's a disturbance in the Force. Tread carefully.

I wonder how bad you'll freak out when this ( ! ) light comes on.
