Trouble with my g37
Hey guys I hope to find some input from somebody who may or may not be having the same problem. Here's is what I'm experiencing... In the following 2 situations my car will throttle on its own only when I'm at idle. Normally from about 700rpms while stopped at a light to about 3000, it will then decrease to 700 and after about a second delay it will increase to 2500 and slowly decrease throttle (on its own) each subsequent time. This will occur when, 1) I have been driving for an extended period of time and 2) when I operating the a/c (this usually results in aggressive throttle). I'd really appreciate any help from anybody as I have taken it to the dealer only to face a puzzled service advisor. This car has a mind Of it's own. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

wow, you drive a lot! These throttle bodies can be very finicky. It could be very dirty. Does this happen every time, or just sometimes? Also, having the air conditioning on can affect the idle if the belt/compressor is going

Yeah I guess I do drive a lot. It's doesn't happen all the time just when I drive for a long period of time and combine that with the a/c and it gets really bad...

I had the same problem. I have an 08 model. At first i seriously thought it was the throttle body. according to everyone who posted stuff in the past. I opened it up and it was barely dirty. I cleaned it anyway. Then i cleaned my filters on my cold air. I even took the initiative and cleaned a bunch of other ****.
I FIGURE that would fix the idle problem, but once everything was put back together. Same **** man.
Driving a lot, mmm i don't know about that. if that were the case every car in the world would have a problem with this. And everyone drives differently.
But the solution to this was a tune with the idling. RESOLVED. if you have the crappy uprev software look into it.

ANother thing you could do is use a scan tool, and see what codes pop up. Thats how i figured out the idling crap.
I hoped this help. People usually answer a question with a question on these forums.

Your car will hit the redline at a red light? Or do you mean 300 and 800?
You could try an idle relearn. Even though my car refused to do it for a while, I eventually got it to work, and it cleared up all my issues.
