car jerking

I have a G37 sport, 2008. Every once in a while I have this jerking sensation in the car; like when I am trying to stop at a light; the care wants to keep going; jerking forward. I have after market exhaust and cold air intake.

any suggestions?.

this just happens once in a while; cheap gas maybe?

Transmission is down gearing. That can cause a slight push too

From: Framingham Ma,
There are threads on here about the car lurching forward when down shifting. I think there is a tab
For it?

so even if the car is downshifting; should it "lurch" that much?, can anything be done to smooth it out?

If what you're describing happens to be exactly as how I'm imagining it, that's completely normal for an '08 5AT coupe. My car does exactly the same thing, especially if I completely let off the throttle at around 40-MPH. The G37 has an ability to sort of engine brake itself, and the side-affect of that is the slight jerking. I checked it out with the dealer back in the day, and they said it's normal for the 5AT's as well. You have nothing to worry about.

Light jerking is normal before coming to a complete stop but if the RPM stays high then take your car to the dealer to have it reprogram at no charge. That happened to my car (RPM sometimes stayed high, 1100 RPM at stop when shifted to Neutral). Good luck

Yup transmission downshifting. This "jerking" only occurs when you brake harder than normal.
