Computer/Transmission problem. need help!
Well, I always drive in either DS mode or M mode (paddleshifters), and today I was driving along and suddenly, without me touching anything, the red screen that shows what gear/mode you are in turned into 'D.' I tried moving back and forth between D and DS and the screen wouldn't change. The paddleshifters stopped working completely and so did the norm tiptronic. I couldn't even drive in DS automatic... It stuck in 'D' mode.
Also, again, since I've really only driven in DS and M mode, I don't know if this is the normal way the car drives, but the car would only really rev up to 4,500 rpm before up-shifting, and once it up-shifted it wouldn't down shift until I came to a complete stop. In DS mode, the car would rev to much higher RPMs and would also shift-brake (downshift to make breaking easier) and would downshift if I gave the peddle a little push to go faster. This part could be normal though, since I don't know how 'D' works.
The problem happened twice today, but after I shut the car off and turn it back on everything seemed normal. But when I started to drive again it switched on me after I would say about 20 minutes of driving in DS mode with paddleshifters.
I hope I explained the problem well enough, please ask questions for clarification!
PS: The car was literally serviced last week and it passed service perfectly... maybe they touched something in the car's computer though?
Thanks for any help!
