I like the auto as well. I always drive in DS mode (usually in M with paddle shifters). The G is a quick little car! Obviously not fast when compared with sports cars, and the S/M/AMG models etc.. for for an every day car (and for me, my first car) its fast enough and the DS/M mode is just plain FUN! But, put it in regular D mode and you have a smooth, luxury cruiser. Great for everyone's needs.
Though there are some con...
The gear shifts can definitely be a bit bumpy at times... and I don't like how it downshifts for you.. sometimes the gears get caught when you are downshifting at the same time the car is... and it ends up double downshifting or just kinda 'stalling' (which is the only word I really have for it even though it may not be the correct term).
Tranny has been less bumpy with the newer updates, but what really freaks me out is the hesitation I experience when I brake to a slow speed and then accelerate again. Sometimes, the transition can be smooth while at other times, it makes the whole car not respond for a good second and then suddenly lurch forward/jerk.
Well, if Amir says it happened, I suppose the C63 could have been broken, or the driver toying with him. But it's at least a second faster than us 0-60, and I hit 60 barely into third, so I'd expect us to be behind pretty much off the line.
Im not into making things up. We had 3 runs and same result each time. The c63 has a very loud exhaust note, so you could tell the driver wasn't toying. He was hammering it also to redline.
If it was from a rolling start, then it would be no contest, but from a standstill, the c63 cant exploit the all its power as immediately as the v36. So in the 'real world' the c63 was lineball up to me hitting redline in 2nd. Once in 3rd, the c63 starts to acclerate away, but at this point we both had slowed down.

I get the same thing every once in a while too. It's like the gears get stuck on the downshift. Its like when ur slowing down the car is shifting down and then trying to upshift at the same time as you accelerate.
im just starting to see the problems with the 7at 7200 miles and its acting up..downshifting in M mode and it takes forever to change gears same as in D mode..

I quoted the members who like myself posted "issues" experienced with the 7AT on the Love 7at Thread. I was scolded for such action a few pages back by HBSURFDAD. I also apologized to the HB... and the OP for doing same on this thread. I would like to add this: I concur with bingpwr in that the reactions I experience and are well documented in the "other" Tranny Threads, are very similar: sometimes it behaves great, other times the lagging happens particularly in that Braking - to Gas scenario.... But No CONS on this thread....Love the 7At. I do too on the Good days, not on the Bad days. Weirdest thing I've ever experienced in 42 years of driving many many cars.
